Hi Everyone

I am new to zapier and trying to test my first basic zap, however I keep getting a fault.

Can anyone help me to overcome a troubleshooting error I keep getting, please? I want to be able to have a basic zap that is bi-directional and allows for adds, updates and deletion of rows when interacting between Google Sheets and Smartsheet. The data is coming into the Google Sheet from a app I made. I want the data inputted onto google sheet to flow into, and populate, a specific smartsheet table. That is all I need.

I have provided a screenshot where the error keep appearing. Furthermore, do I have to input test data into zapier or can zapier check the connection between Google SHeets and Smartsheet via back-end protocols?

Please see attached screenshot

Thank you - John

Hi @johnnipearson

Zaps aren’t meant for 2-way data syncs for the same data:

We would need to see detailed screenshots with how your Zap step 2 is configured in the ‘Action’ section.

Hi Troy

Thanks for the quick response back to me. Its a big help.

Oh, ok. I didnt know that. Is it possible to sent up another zap in the other direction in this case?

Please see ACTION screenshot.

@johnnipearson

Make sure to read this help article about syncing via Zaps as you don’t want to create an infinite loop:

Looks like you need to map data between Zap steps.

Thanks for that Troy. I will keep to single flows in that case and do some work arounds. However, I am still even struggling to get the single flow working. All the column headers are the same in both smartsheet and google sheets though the process keeps faulting. Can you help me diagnose whats going on here please? I would really appreciate your assistance to work this out so i can understand what I am doing wrong.

I have add more photos of what I am seeing

Thank you - John
