We have a slack automation through Zapier that sits on a private channel. Anytime someone posts a phone number in the channel, this automation is supposed to check if its a current customer in our crm, and then notify the rep inside the channel. Some how, when slack was message up or delayed last week, it has now started replaying a message from me from last week. Everyone else in the channel can post a phone number and get a response. But if i post one it continues to replay it and spit out the same response over and over again. I have tried duplicating the zapier automation, creating a new chat, everything and its still doing this over and over again. I have attached screen shots, but cannot figure out why this is happening. I have checked all the settings, making sure it doesnt fire on bot messages, and also checked to make sure its set to private channel, and not any channel. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear that the Zap keeps replaying the same message. I did some checking and saw you also reached out to our Support team who identified that you’re running into a bug where the Zap is ignoring the selected bot trigger settings, which is causing a Zap loop. We can’t give any sort of timeline on when this will be fixed but we’ll be sure to email you as soon as it is.

In the meantime, the Support team suggested using the workaround of adding a filter to your Zap right after the first step, to check whether the message was sent by a bot and only allow it to continue for messages that are not from bots. 

Hopefully that should help to fix things while that bug is still around. Let us know if you run into any issues setting up the filter, want to make sure you’re all set! 🙂
