Scheduled Zap not running at set times anymore and only works with once-a-day trigger
This was working in the past but seems like something has changed because I had a zap configured like this and it seemed to stop running at the times I set so I changed it to once a day and it is working fine.
When I search it says create multiple schedules, but this seems silly if you can’t give specific times to run each day?
Thoughts on how to accomplish this easily?

Hi @pdehaan, welcome to the Community!
Sorry to hear your Zap has suddenly stopped working correctly. I did a quick check on the open bugs for the Schedule by Zapier app but I couldn’t see any that match the behavior you’ve described, so if it is a bug it doesn’t appear to have been flagged to our developers yet.

I’m guessing you were using the Every Hour (Schedule by Zapier) trigger previously—is that correct?
If it was working fine previously with no edits to the Zap, or timezone settings for the Zap then it could be a change that was made to the app itself that is the cause. Do you happen to know roughly when the Zap stopped working?

Can you share a link to where you’re seeing that so we can get a bit more context? Thanks!
In general i’ve set it to daily schedule then if I set a single time it works as expected and looks like this.
If I set that to 5am, 12pm, 10pm for the same daily one, it will just one one time at a random time of the day is now what i’m seeing. Is there a different way to set a single schedule to trigger at 3 specific times each day?
Ah I see! Thanks for clarifying that @pdehaan.
The Every Day trigger is not designed to accept multiple time values in that Time of Day field. If you want to trigger a Zap multiple times per day you’d need to switch to the Every Hour trigger—but this would trigger once every hour at your chosen offset past the hour (e.g. 00, 15, 30 or 45).
If it needs to run at only 5am, 12pm and 10pm what you could do is duplicate the current Zap and set each Zap to trigger at a different time (e.g. one at 5am, another at 12pm and another at 10pm). Granted it wouldn’t be running the same Zap but the Zaps would be running the same actions.
Hope that helps. If you run into any trouble on that or have any more questions just let me know!
Is there a feature request or plan to make the multiple daily option work? Hourly would be a large waste of tasks and having 3 different zaps would just lead to update issues and likely inconsistencies across the 3. Wondering if maybe setting it for hourly, then adding filters at top to only continue if the hour is 5 or 12 or 10 would work and solve it for now?
I tested it. Essentially made the schedule fire hourly, then use formatter to output the current time in 24hr format and only output the hour. So then I create one filter that say formatter output (the current hour in 24hr time needs to exactly match 5 or 13 or 23 which accomplishes on schedule and one zap for specific 3 runs per day.
That’s such a great workaround, @pdehaan—awesome work!
I’m not seeing any feature requests open for the ability to set more than one time with the Every Day trigger. I’d suggest contacting our Support team to submit a request for that to be added. You can do that here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help. That’ll put it on the team’s radar for future consideration.
Seems like you’re all set with that workaround, so I’ll mark your latest post as the best answer. If anything else comes up, feel free to reach back out to the community. In the meantime, happy Zapping!
