The Quickbooks Online - Find Customer task seems to have an issue searching by email.  When choosing to Search by Email, the task always errors out with "Duplicate Name Exists Error" even when we know for certain that the email does not already exist.

This error can be replicated by entering a search of any email address. Try xyz555@xyz555.com for example. 

 

There are several related posts in the community, but none are open nor show this as resolved.

This exact situation was noted in a previous post at 

That post seems to have been closed, but was never resolved.

 

A very similar previous post at “QuickBooks Online error: Duplicate Name Exists Error: The name supplied already exists” implied that “Zapier uses the Display Name as a unique handle for finding customers inside of QuickBooks.” 
If that is true, then why is searching by email even a feature?

 

Another post at QuickBooks Online error: Duplicate Name Exists; the name supplied already exists. implied that there was an old bug even when the Search Field was by Name. That appears to have been resolved.
