Posts to Medium.com with Images not showing

A few months ago, when I would send RSS to Medium.com, it the first image in my HTML would be included as the main image in the article.  Now it no longer carries over to medium.  Is there a new format rule we need to follow?

The content is sent using this format:

<img alt="Washington vs Seattle Prediction" title="Washington vs Seattle Prediction" src="https://sportsjaw.com/stats/mlb/6-27-2023/Washington-vs-Seattle.webp" /><p> On Tuesday, June 27, the Washington Nationals (30-47) will faceoff against the Seattle Mariners (37-39) in an interleague showdown at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington. Starting pitchers Jake Irvin (ERA: 4.71) and Brayan Woo (ERA: 5.09) take the mountain to open a three-game series. The Mariners are listed as a firm -225 moneyline favorite, while the total is set at 8.5 runs. Place your bets now and get in on the excitement as the 2023 Major League Baseball season continues.</p>

Hi @SportsJaw

Good question.

To help give us more context, please post screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured, thanks.

Make sure the Format is set to HTML.

Hi there @SportsJaw,

I’m jumping in to see if I can help!

I did some digging into our notes, and it seems like another user ran into the same issue as you, and here’s how they fixed it:

“I stumbled onto this site from w3, https://validator.w3.org/feed/. It validates your RSS feed. I plugged my feed in there, and it turns out that I am using relative paths for my images which they are flagging as a potential problem. My current set up is working for another blog site so I find this strange, but maybe Medium is actually catching that. I'll work on updating it and seeing if that works.

That was it. I updated my blog to use absolute paths on the images, and they are now working on medium. “

Could you please try that out, and keep us posted! 😊
