Use the phone number as the unique ID, that will make sure to update existing contact if that already exists.

tThis didn't work for me, It just refuses to update a contact no matter what I do. It only creates new contacts.

WWhat I didnt understand was the fact that internal ids in this particular case are strictly defined by me from the beginning. I'm so used to internal I D's being something that the other program defines. So I figured it out
