I am triggering on a new Facebook Lead, and subsequently creating a new lead in Boomtown.  However, whenever I try to include a tag in the new lead’s information, the lead is never created in Boomtown.  If I remove the tag, it works.

Any ideas of what I can do at this point?

Hi @bperniciaro

Help us have more info by posting these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field mappings
  • the encountered error on the Zap step

Hi @bperniciaro!

Were you since able to get this sorted on your own? If so, we’d love to hear what the solution was! 🙏

If not, it sounds like there might be an issue with the tag that’s been selected. To help confirm that can you share some screenshots as Troy mentioned previously so we can take a closer look? Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing.

Thanks, I look forward to your reply! 🙂

Here is a screenshot of the field mappings:

When this step runs, it does not encounter an error.  It looks like it is successful, but the lead is never created in Boomtown.  My wife thinks it may be because you cannot create a lead directly in Boomtown with tags.  So maybe it was supported in their API, but not anymore?

I have tried to create accounts with both built-in tags and custom tags, neither works.

Thanks for sending over that helpful screenshot @bperniciaro.

The tags you’re using look OK to me so I did some digging and came across an old bug that was mentioned a while back in another Community thread here:

On the bug it was mentioned that leads created by a Zap go into a processing queue and that there may have been a problem processing it if it’s not later visible in BoomTown. I’m not sure if that bug is exactly what you’re running into here but wondered if it could it be that the leads that are tagged are taking longer to process?

That said, there’s an Imports Dashboard in BoomTown (mentioned in that other Community thread) that shows if there’s any errors in processing the imported leads so I’d recommend taking a look there and also reach out to BoomTown’s support team to see if they’re able to shed some light on why tagged leads aren’t going through.

Please do keep us updated on how you get on, keen to ensure this gets sorted!
