"Invalid email format for the passed email" when sending hashed email to Facebook Leads

I’m trying to send leads to Facebook Ads through Zapier’s “Send Lead Event” zap.

We have already hashed the email address before sending them to Zapier to ensure that PII is kept confidential. However, we’re getting this error message:

"Invalid email format for the passed email. Please check the passed email format.”

Is there any way to skip the testing process here?

Thanks! Sorry -- it turned out we were using the wrong hashing format after all.

you can skip action steps but it is generally not recommended. Please share screenshots of your set up actions for us to further assist
