Question

How to troubleshoot SMS messages not sending in Zapier with Quo

¡Gracias!

Hi @EVERGREEN PATROL LLC

Translated to English:

I am setting up an automation in Zapier, but I’ve run into an issue. When testing the automation, the test message sends successfully; however, subsequent messages do not send automatically.

Could you help me identify the cause of this problem and what I need to fix to ensure the automation works correctly and all messages are sent as intended?

I would like to know if the issue might be related to the trigger, filters, action settings, test data, or whether the Zap is properly activated.

What steps should I take to troubleshoot this?

Thank you!

Hi @EVERGREEN PATROL LLC

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in the CONFIGURE tab.

When a Zap only works in test, check three things first. Is the Zap published and turned on? Does the live trigger data pass your filter? Test data often has fields filled in that real records leave blank. And does the Quo phone number field get a full E.164 number like +15551234567? Zap History shows whether live runs are filtered out, halted or never triggered, and each of those has a different fix.

Since your test message sent successfully, the connection worked during testing.

  1. Confirm the Zap is on and published. Open the Zap and make sure it’s turned on.

  2. Create a new item to trigger the Zap. Use a brand-new item that matches your trigger conditions. If your trigger uses polling, allow time for its next scheduled check.

  3. Check your Quo API credits. Messages sent through Zapier may use separate credits from those included in your regular Quo plan. If you see an insufficient-credit error, review Quo’s Zapier pricing and billing guidance.

  4. Review the Quo action settings. Confirm that the correct sending phone number and recipient number are selected or mapped. If you see an authentication error, reconnect your Quo account, retest the action, and publish the Zap again.

For additional setup guidance, see Getting started with Quo (formerly OpenPhone) on Zapier.

If messages still aren’t sending, please share the exact error from Zap History and screenshots of your trigger and action settings, with any sensitive information hidden. If no run appears, let us know which trigger app and event you’re using so we can investigate further.

Jimmy's three checks are the right starting point, particularly the filter catching live data that the test record passed. Gaurav's mention of Quo API credits is worth verifying too. If no run appears in Zap History at all, the trigger is the culprit rather than the action. Checking whether the Zap is published and on before anything else saves time.
