Hey community,

I’ve recently created an Eventbrite → Mailchimp zap (Tracking event registrations and adding emails to my subscriber list in Mailchimp)

I’ve published the Zap and tested with friends and been getting inconsistent performance, in some cases it operates smoothly whilst in others I get the error code Mailchimp error: Invalid Resource]

I’ve tested the Zap with multiple of my own GMail and 10minute mail accounts, and it worked fine. However, when I’ve asked friends to sign-up (using a mix of gmail, AOL, and custom domains) I face the issue which I’ve highlighted above.

I don’t think it’s an issue with the Eventbrite trigger, perhaps Mailchimp - anyone else face this and find a solution?

Screenshot of my Zap run attached for context :)

Thanks,
Mahdi

There a couple of things that might have happened,

1. The email is not coming from Eventbrite,
OR
2. The email has a wrong syntax,

You can add a formatter by zapier step in it to validate that the email syntax is correct, and then use a filter step to Output matched (true),

Here is the regex you can use in Formatter for email validation
>\w._%+-]+@@\w.-]+\..a-zA-Z]{2,}

Hi @Mahdi

Check the DATA IN.

Mailchimp is indicating the provided email address was not valid.

That could be due to dummy data or a malformed email address value.

Hey @Troy Tessalone

Yep, that’s what I’ve noticed but struggling to resolve.

As mentioned in my original post, the Zap works when I used multiple of my own GMail accounts and even a temp email, but for some reason I face this issue when I test it on my friends who are also using GMail and other providers - Any clue what could fix this?

@Mahdi

Could be a case by case basis for troubleshooting based on the actual email address used.

You may want to consider hiring a Certified Zapier Expert to work with to help you troubleshoot and resolve: https://zapier.com/experts
