I have the following:

New file in Google Folder
Upload new file - makes a copy and moves the file to a new folder
- File name - change the name of the file - this works

This flow works as intended. However, the copied file now has the extension appended to the file name, eg XX-Filename.xlsx.xlsx.

How do I remove the appended extension?

For the File Name field, try using a different variable from Zap step 1 that is the actual file name, instead of mapping the file object variable.
