The email sent through Gmail from a Zapier trigger goes directly into a client’s Spam folder.

How do I resolve this issue so that the email is sent to their inbox rather than the spam folder?

Hi @brian.ango23

Welcome to the Community! I'm sorry you’re having trouble with your Zap.

Upon checking, this has something to do with Gmail, not Zapier. See the bullet points below:

  • Gmail has a sending limit of 500 emails per day to prevent abuse. Gmail will also stop allowing you to send email if enough spam complaints are triggered based on the email you send.
  • If you are sending automated, transactional emails of any volume, we highly suggest you switch to a dedicated transactional email provider like Mandrill, Mailgun, or Sendgrid.
  • Gmail has a sending limit of 100 recipients per message for emails sent via API. There are also limits for the total number of internal/external recipients in a day. Link to documentation: https://support.google.com/a/answer/166852

Hopefully this helps!

Hi @brian.ango23,

Something else you can do is suggest to your email recipients that they add your sending email address to their “safelist”. I found this resource that explains how to do that with a lot of email clients: https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/articles/KnowledgeBase/5873-adding-email-addresses-to-a-safe-sender-list?lang=en_US

Are you finding that sending from Gmail using Zapier works differently than sending directly from Gmail, in terms of going to the spam folder?
