I want to add Grok 4 research function to some daily automations.

Every morning, at 12:30 am, I want Grok to scrape and research a topic, then populate results into a word doc.

The problem I have is it keeps timing out and the Zap fails. I set up XAI account, added credits. I use Open AI in several automations, but I can’t get Grok to work.

It seems like there may be a problem in Grok taking too long to perform the action, while Zapier only allows 30 seconds. Could this be the problem? Is it possible to expand Zapier’s window?

It does seem to be a timeout error indeed, i.e. Grok doesnt respond in 30 seconds. 

 

Currently there is no way to expand this. Some apps do have higher limitations though (such as OpenAI, currently at 15 mins).
