Formatter by Zapier gets the dddd incorrect

I have a couple of formatting steps in a zap that first split a date range into two dates in the mm/dd/yyyy format, and then uses a date formatting step to convert the first of those dates into the format dddd

The problem is that the second step sometimes gets the day of the week wrong. For example, see the example in the screenshots. It interpreted 3/13/2024 as a Monday.

I asked the Help chatbot about this, and it suggested I add in a “from format” and “time zone” fields. So I did that, and this time I got the answer “Tuesday”. Neither are correct - 3/13/2024 is a Wednesday.

Any ideas on what’s going wrong?

Thanks,

Rick

actually I got a response from support chat on this one, and it has fixed the problem.

basically, I changed the “From Format” to m/dd/yyyy, and I made sure to specify both the “from” and “to” timezone, in this case EST.

Now, dddd is correctly calculated.

Hi @WellnessRoad

Can you post screenshots with how the Zap step is configured in EDIT mode?

Make sure to set a FROM Format.
