Hi,

I have a Zap that is triggered whenever a Pipedrive Contact is changed. As a first step in the Zap is check if an organisation ID is present, since I need that later.

When I test the trigger of the Zap, this value is in the “Org Id Value” field. This field is present in the editor in the steps after that.

However, when the Zap is run live, this same field is called “Org Id”.

Since I only can select “Org Id Value” field when editing the Zap, I can’t do anything with the value of the “Org Id” field.

I did find some solutions online, but they are alles based on - I think - an old UI. Since there solution I find (get the code from the ‘pill’) I can’t implement because I can’t paste the placeholder anywhere in the step. I only can select from the fields found in the test record.

Any suggestions?

Hi @wouterr, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Ah, yes this can sometimes happen when the data is structured differently in test records and live Zap runs. For cases like this you can manually select the field names using custom pill mapping which I think is one of the solutions you were referring to, right?

You can learn more about how to do that here:

I’d also recommend reaching out to our Support team to flag that the fields in the test records don’t match what’s coming through when the Zap runs live.

Can you give that workaround a try and let us know if that does the trick?

Thanks. Yes, that was what I was referring to. However, the interface from this article is different from mine. I can’t copy any pills to get the value and I also cannot place any other value then excisting fields in the step fields.

@SamB Would you be able to checkout my response above?

I’m so sorry for missing your replies here, @wouterr! Were you since able to get it sorted?

If not, it sounds like you might need to change the field that you want to paste the “custom pill” into, to use a Custom value—see: Add custom values to dropdown menu fields in Zaps. That should then allow you to paste it into the field.

Alternatively, we recently released an update to the Zap editor that now makes it possible to use previous Zap runs as trigger test records. So instead of using that custom pill mapping approach you could just select one of the recent Zap runs that has the Org Id field that you want to select. Check out our Modify test records in Zaps guide for more details on how to do that.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on with this, keen to ensure you’re all set!
