Failed to create a subscriber in Mailchimp Required field "Subscriber Email" (email) is missing.


Hi, I have a problem with this error message: Failed to create a subscriber in Mailchimp

I chose the Manychat app, trigger event: new subscirber and my Account.

Test ok.

Next step: Mailchimp app, Add/Update new subscriber, and my account again.

My audience, Subscriber Email: user Email, I left New email open, Status: subscribed. 

double opt: true
update existing: yes

I didn't fill in anything else.

I see this message: Send Subscriber to Mailchimp
To test Mailchimp, we need to create a new subscriber. This is what will be created -> Test

Result: Failed to create a subscriber in Mailchimp
Required field "Subscriber Email" (email) is missing.

What can I do?

The error occurs because Zap isn't receiving an email from Manychat that needs to be passed to Mailchimp. To fix this, ensure the Manychat trigger correctly pulls subscriber data, verify that the 'Subscriber Email' field in Mailchimp is mapped to the correct email input, and test the Zap again. If the issue persists, check that Manychat properly captures and stores email addresses.

Hey ​@Lissa-Berlin, just checking in—were you able to get this sorted? 

If not, one workaround could be to use a Find User by ID Manychat action to search for the user and get their email address. Not 100% sure if the New Subscriber trigger isn’t sending the email address, perhaps there’s a delay in the email address being added for the user at the time the Zap triggers. If there is some sort of delay then you might need to add a Delay For (Delay by Zapier) action ahead of the Find User by ID step to give it a bit more time for the email to be added before using the search action to find it.

That should help to ensure that the Mailchimp action always receives an email address from ManyChat search action so that it doesn’t continue to run into those “Required field "Subscriber Email" (email) is missing” errors.
