Question

Failed to create a spreadsheet in Google Sheets

I got the generic

“Failed to create a spreadsheet in Google Sheets: The app returned "Error 404 (Not Found)!!1".” Error message when trying to create a new worksheet in a Google Sheet. However, it is indeed creating the worksheet. Since this step is throwing an error though, subsequent steps that rely on it are not working.

I tried re-connecting my Google account but no luck.

Any tips?

Hi @egardner

For us to have more info, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible
  • the encountered Zap step error

@egardner

Try setting this field: Overwrite existing worksheet with the same title.

Also, check the Spreadsheet ID exists.

@egardner

Try clearing then reselecting the Spreadsheet in the Spreadsheet field.

@egardner

In the Zap Run step with the error, check the LOGS tab next to the TROUBLESHOOT tab to see the underlying API request/response to see if that has more info about the error.

Hi there @egardner, just checking in—were you able to get this sorted or are you still seeing those “Error 404 (Not Found)!!1” errors?

Let us know how it’s going, want to make sure you’re all set! 🙂
