Failed to create a prompt in OpenAI (GPT-3, DALL-E, Whisper)

('OpenAI (GPT-3, DALL-E, Whisper) throttling https://relay.zapier.com/api.openai.com/v1/completions', 60)

This is the full troubleshoot message. My trigger is google forms and open ai is the action.

@cgeddz

I’ve had a billing payment method connected to my OpenAI account since early on and haven’t had issues with using OpenAI or ChatGPT in Zaps.

Hi @cgeddz

Good question.

The error message mentions throttling.

Also, check the OpenAI status page: https://status.openai.com/#past-incidents

@Troy Tessalone @Coly @PhyberOptik appreciate the responses. I’ve tried the OpenAI status page as well and can’t find anything on it. Not sure what to do. Have you guys tried reaching out to support for this?

I’ve had a ticket open on this exact error for 3 days and support reached back in 24 hrs and told me the issue was resolved, but I still get the error. I screenshot the error back to them and awaiting a response

I managed to a hard token limit error away, but got issue instead. Anyone found a work-around?

Apparently, the problem would be related to the generated API key quota numbers, switching to the paid offer (OpenAI) would solve the problem. But I don't want to risk it cause i’m not sure…..

I still haven’t heard back from support regarding this issue. I might wait till they respond before I upgrade to a paid version if that’s necessary.

@Coly and @cgeddz

Generally you need an OpenAI account with a billing payment method configured to be used in the Zaps.

This is what I received from Zapier helpdesk. Keep in mind I have the $20 paid version of ChatGPT and I still receive the error. So I don’t understand how this can be an issue but just got this on today 8/7/23

Hi there,

Thanks for writing back. I'm sorry if we're still getting the same error. I'll assist you further.

I also saw the community page that you linked and I thought that was the cause of the error in the Zap.

I dug deeper and checked the backend logs of the Zap and the OpenAI app returned this detailed error message:

{
"error": {
"message": "You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.",
"type": "insufficient_quota",
"param": null,
"code": "insufficient_quota"
}
}

According to OpenAI help documents, this means that you have hit your maximum monthly spend (hard limit) for the API. They have some additional information about this here:
https://help.openai.com/en/articles/6891831-error-code-429-you-exceeded-your-current-quota-please-check-your-plan-and-billing-details

To resolve this error, please follow these steps:
- Check your current quota in your account settings here. You can see how many tokens your requests have consumed here.
- If you are using a free plan, consider upgrading to a pay-as-you-go plan that offers a higher quota.
- If you need a quota increase, you can apply for one here. We will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.

I hope this points you in the right direction but please don't hesitate to get back to me if you have any further questions or if there's anything else I can do to help.

Kind regards,

This ticket may appear closed but you can still reply to this thread and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

@BrandX

You need to have an OpenAI billing payment method connected, which is different from having a ChatGPT+ subscription.

@Troy Tessalone do you have an open ai billing account? If so, has this fixed the same issue for you?

@Troy Tessalone good to know. thanks you Troy

Paid Plan here, billing info as mentioned above good. I see no usage in history, but the error is the same.
