I want to integrate Google Sheets to Wrike -

Trigger is - A new row is add to spreadsheet - A new project is created in Wrike. However, I get the attached error.

Is this end result possible? Or does the integration not support creating a new project.

I have attached screenshots

Hi there @MeghaB1011,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Unfortunately, the “Create Project” action is not supported at the moment, and the action you’re using is a Custom Action which is considered an advanced feature, so our support for it may be more limited. Not because we don't want to help, but because APIs can be tricky to troubleshoot since we can't see what's happening on the other side. Every API that you send a request to is going to have slightly different structures that are required.

This makes it hard for us to know why the request may be receiving errors or not working as expected, beyond taking a general look at what's showing in Zapier.

In the meantime, we have an open feature request for the “Create Project” action. I have added you to the open feature request. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track interest in this feature being implemented
  • Allows us to notify you via email if this feature becomes available in the future

While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will notify you via email if it is!

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

I was also coming out here to see what you can do at the project level.

We actually have an order form and whenever we open it up, we want it to grab the next available job number from the google sheet. Once we press submit on the order, we want it to update the spreadsheet with a custom field called ‘mailtype’ from Wrike into the 2nd column.  The spreadsheet is set to auto increment the job # in column ‘A’ if the ‘B’ column is populated.

Is that doable at all?

Hi @eboughey,

I’ve added your vote for this feature request, and we’ll notify you via email once an update is readily available. Thanks.

I don’t see polling for new projects on the Wrike side, but I do see it from Google Sheets to Wrike.

We click on an order form in Wrike & it creates a project when the client submits the job using all the info gathered. So every time that order form is opened, we would need a custom field to be updated with the job number that’s available in the google sheet

have to research more..

Thanks for getting that done so quickly though.  What an awesome turn time!!!
