When trying to send out an email using gmail I noticed the line breaks I entered into the text body are not preserved and instead an email that should read:

l

i

k

e

t

h

i

s

instead reads:

like this

Help finding an easy fix would be appreciated!

The apps I’m using are google forms and gmail

Hi @BAD Inc

For us to have more info, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visibile
  • resulting output in the received email that was sent

Hi @BAD Inc, just checking in—were you able to get this sorted?

If not, and you’re using Shift + Return to add line breaks instead of HTML tags, you’ll want to change the Body type from Html to Plain:

I tested this on my end, and it preserves entered line breaks.

That said, if you want more control over the styling and appearance of the email, I’d recommend keeping the Body type set to Html and using HTML tags to add the line breaks instead—for example <br>, <p> and </p>:

Keen to make sure you’re all set, so let us know how you’re getting on!
