Hi guys, I have been using Email by Zapier in a very simple Zap to process new inbound emails. This has been working for months without any issues, however since July 17th my Zap suddenly stopped triggering.

The emails are coming from another service to our Exchange email, from there they are being automatically forwarded to Email by Zapier.

I have checked through Exchange and the emails are still being successfully delivered to Zapier, which means the issue is on the Zapier end.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be?

In the change history I can only see that the Zap was turned of by the system for maintenance operations and turned back on again - this is also the date it stopped working, I think its connected to that. What changed?

Hi @Yusuf

You will probably want to try opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Make sure to include proof of the issue by providing screenshots of the emails being forwarded during those dates.

Hi Yusuf

I have exactly the same issue, and also started last Thursday.

@TWatch

After getting in contact with support it was determined that this seems to be a bug. They have it on their radar but don’t have any timeline on when this will be solved.

For anyone interested: I build a workaround through make.com, I am pulling all emails there and then transferring them over to Zapier. This way I only had to rebuild the trigger step of my Zap and could keep anything else.

@Yusuf

Thank you for the update and for the workaround.

same issue for me since the 17th as well. Zap should be triggered 6 times every day at the same time, consistently gets triggered by the same 3 emails, but the other 3 never triggers it

Hey folks 👋

@Yusuf, @TWatch and @botondbabak, I’m so sorry you’re all being affected by this. I looked up the bug report that Yusuf was added to and have made sure you’re all on it as well. As Yusuf mentioned, we can’t provide any sort of timeline for when it will be resolved by but we’ll definitely notify you all by email as soon as it is.

In the meantime, I saw reports of this affecting contact@ to no-reply@ types of emails specifically. In those cases, forwarding the message from a different email successfully triggered the Zap.

Can you all try forwarding the email from another address and confirm whether that works?

I’m experiencing the exact same issue.  However, this is happening at with more than just contact@ & no-reply@.  I don’t have that type of email and I’m still seeing the problem.

What’s frustrating is that we could debug this further, but we don’t see the emails that got ignored.  We could compared the failed and the success email to build a more automated work-around.  This would be a nice add to Zapier.

Sorry for the delay in replying here @ChuckS. I checked on the bug report and saw our team has since implemented a fix that has resolved the issue. 🎉

As it’s been fixed, I’ll be closing this topic now. That said, if you’re still experiencing issues please do reach out in the Community or get in touch with Support. In the meantime, happy Zapping! ⚡
