Hello

My Zap used to work fine. I have not made edits in 2 years and my connection to Dropbox still works. There is an image file that I have stored in Dropbox that is not being located. I get the following error now:

Failed to find a file in Dropbox

Error while hydrating data from Dropbox: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '.tag')

The configuration is below. The file is an image file in the “Business Documents” Folder of my drobox.

Hello all,

I’m reaching out with the news that this has been resolved, you should no longer be seeing this error. Some changes within the Dropbox API necessitated these recent changes made to the Zapier integration to Dropbox. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about this issue!

Hi @makeempayprs,

Welcome to the Community.

If you're having trouble accessing a Dropbox file through Zapier, ensure that the file path and extension in the Zap configuration are correct, as file paths are case-sensitive. Try reconnecting your Dropbox account to Zapier and ensure that Zapier is updated. If the issue persists, clear your browser's cache.

Let us know if this information helps you jump-start your Zap.

Hi friends,

Before we dig deeper into this, could you please try reconnecting your Dropbox account and after that please try selecting the folders and other fields again in the step.

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

Hi Ken,

I tried reconnecting the Dropbox account, select the space and retype the fields again. Still have same error.

Not all folder trigger this error. So far I tested 10 top-folder, just 1 trigger it.

Hi friends,

Thanks for giving that a try.

I’m not seeing any reports regarding this issue. I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team since you might be running into a bug here. Our Support Team has the correct tools to look closer at the Zap and its logs.

You can reach our Support Team here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Same issue here - haven’t changed the flow for years. I did reconnect the dropbox account, still happening.  This looks like a recent bug...

Following as well, as I am throwing the same error and have been unable to resolve it. I have reconnected Dropbox and Google drive.

Just made my own post about this - insane that something as basic as Dropbox that worked for years all of a sudden stops working!

If I had to guess, Zapier is using AI to try to make the UI faster, and isn’t paying too close attention on the impact before the change is rolled out.

Perhaps this is the solution: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-API-Support-Feedback/shared-link-already-exists/td-p/190946

“I called the "create_shared_link_with_settings" when the user clicked on file Test1 for example, so it could be downloaded from his dropbox account to my app. If the user then wanted to see file Test2 i did the same, and if he/she wanted to go back to Test1 the shared_link as you said already existed.

I used the "get_temporary_link" to grab the link of a file, that expires in 4 hours, so it seems that it will do the trick.

Thank you again.”

Hi friends,

It looks like our Support Team opened a bug report regarding the Cannot read properties of undefined (reading: '.tag') error. Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I've added your email address as another affected user. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track and prioritize fixes
  • Allows us to notify you via email if/when this is fixed

Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA, but I’ve added you to the list of users affected by this issue so we can let you know as soon as we have any updates.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you! Sounds like your developers could use some training on how to use Google!
