Datadog "forbidden error" when connecting account

Hi, I am trying to connect to datadog via zap and get a pop up asking for Datadog account name and API key. When I provide the details, I get a forbidden error. Have not been able to diagnose the root cause. Anyone with similar issues?

Hey ​@sjayanthi, welcome to the Community! 🎉

I did some checking and it looks like Datadog has both API Keys and Application Keys: API and Application Keys. Can you double-check in Datadog to make sure it was an API key that was entered and not an Application Key? 

If it was definitely an API key then it may be that the permission scopes for it aren’t sufficient. In which case, I’d suggest creating a new API Key with additional scopes to see if that allows you to connect.

Thank you ​@SamB Tested with few API keys but same result. When I launch the DataDog connector it asks me for Datadog account name and API key. I will keep trying to see if there is permissions issue but if there is a tutorial on this connector it will super useful.

I couldn’t find any tutorials specifically about connecting Datadog and Zapier, ​@sjayanthi. If you try adjusting the permissions and it’s still not working, it might be best to reach out to our Support team to investigate further. They can check the logs for your account to see if there are any additional details about why the connection is being rejected.
