Our organization uses Lu.ma to track event guests and we would like to create an integration that adds each new guest that registers for an event with us through Lu.ma to our Bloomerang database, and captures the amount they paid for the event registration as an interaction in Bloomerang as well. A number of the guests at our events are return users, so ideally Zapier can automatically recognize when the user is a returning guest and not create a duplicate in our Bloomerang database. I would like for the system to essentially work like this:

User registers for an event in Lu.ma > Zapier searches for this user in Bloomerang > If found, Zapier captures the event registration as an Interaction under the existing user > If not found, Bloomerang creates a new Constituent with an Event Registration interaction nested under that user.

Right now, I am getting stuck on the very first step of testing whether Zapier can see my event registrations at all. Here is what I am getting when I try to test my first trigger:

Can someone help me try to figure out what is going wrong?

Is this a brand new event?

Try registering using a test email to the Luma event, then come back to Zapier and hit Test Trigger again

Hi @JADE Info

Luma Zap app triggers are instant via webhooks.

Help links about the different trigger types: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496244568589-How-Zap-triggers-work

When you test an instant trigger, Zapier will:

  • Retrieve the three most recent items from the connected account.

If you do not see any test records, create new data in your app, then re-test your trigger step. Some apps will only return generic sample data–you may not receive real data from your account. This depends on how the app’s developer sets up the trigger.
