Cognito Entry not created - required field missing although nothing required in cognito

Forum|alt.badge.img

We have a Zap that should create an entry in cognito automatically when triggered.

I changed the cognito form and added a restricted mandatory field (meaning it’s only mandatory in special cases) but Zapier seems to have troubled with that and is always reading it as mandatory. So I switched the field in the cognito form again to NEVER be mandatory, but I’m still getting the same error in Zapier, telling me, that the field is not supposed to be empty.

Which is just not true. It’s now 5 hours ago since I updated the cognito form and I already reloaded the examples in the Zap. When manually testing the Entry Creation Step it works just fine and no error.

Cognito Config of that form where Startdate is not mandatory:

That looks to me like a Zapier bug. What can I do except for recreating the Zap?

Found the issue - the bolean field I also added newly was not set to yes or no and needed a value. So the error message seems to be the wrong one

Ah, nice catch @Hotel ResBot—thanks so much for following up here to share what the issue was! 🤗

You’re right, the error messaging could definitely be made clearer. I’d recommend reaching out to our Support team to put in a feature request to have the wording on the error messages improved and to have restricted mandatory fields handled better.

In the meantime, it seems like you’re all set for now but please do reach back out if you need help with anything further. Happy Zapping! ⚡
