Cannot get Slack Workflow to work with built in Zapier Email

Hello everyone, 

 

I have been trying to figure this out myself for the better part of 2 hours haha. I just can’t seem to find the issue/solution. 

 

I built this workflow via Slack’s Workflow tool to execute the function “Gmail Send Email from a Slack Workflow”… Essentially the automation I want is that every time someone fills out this workflow, it sends an email to the corresponding Site Manager based on the Site manager email response in the workflow.

Basically the issue is as soon as I submit this workflow, I get this error.

And if i go to the activity page of Slack I get this error. 

 

 

 

I looked into these forums for the solution and I found that once I submit the workflow, a zap is created and put in my trash folder on Zapier’s dashboard, once I move that to my Home folder and make it active/on, nothing happens, and when I go to submit the workflow once more it just puts another zap into my trash folder. 

I am pretty lost at this point as I am new to Zapier and Slack all together.

Yeah, I tried to turn it on. Even edited to just be a specific to:email just in case it couldn’t source the email from the response.

I configured and tested a similar flow in my Slack and was able to get it to work.

I actually figured it out.

 

When editing the form there is a box that you can check that will send the form into a message on that slack channel. When checked, the Zap will not work, assuming it cannot take the information from the form since it is then posting it as a message. 

 

Once it is unchecked, the Zap worked flawlessly!
