Hi, i’m running a Zap with chatgpt as a step with “conversation”. I’m using Text as input and i don’t have any trouble with running this step if i use the model 4o. Right now if i switch the model to o3 or similar (o4, deepsearch, etc...) i get this error “

“Failed to create a conversation in ChatGPT (OpenAI)

Unable to process request from OpenAI”

I’m using a paid account with budget for tokens so i don’t know if the problem is related on Zapier or on Chatgpt cause model 4o works fine.

Hi

Hi @Fede2001

Help links for using the ChatGPT/OpenAI Zap app: https://zapier.com/apps/chatgpt/integrations#help

Check the OpenAI Status page for recent/ongoing incidents: https://status.openai.com/

I created the zap just 2 days ago and the OpenAI status doesn’t show significant problems for the past week. The help links didn’t help me much to understand why certain models like o3 or o4 doesn’t work with conversation

One more thing, 04-mini and similar work as well, the problem seems specific with o3

@Fede2001 I think it’s most likely a quota issue, since o3 is one of the more expensive models. Here are some possibilities that come to mind:

  1. Your OpenAI account is funded, but the current request would exceed the remaining balance and you don’t have auto top-up enabled
  2. Even if your account is funded and auto top-up is enabled, there are still token and usage limits. I think if it were a token limit issue, you would get a different error message, but you might be hitting the usage limit, which I think you can configure in your OpenAI account settings.

Have you tried making the same request outside of Zapier, e.g., in the OpenAI Playground (https://platform.openai.com/chat)?

Ok, sovled guys. I just had to verify my ID to access o3 for Api use. problem solved

Glad to hear, @Fede2001!

Yay! I’m so pleased you were able to get this sorted, @Fede2001🎉 Thank you so much for letting us know that you were able to get it working by verifying your ID. And a big thank you to @Troy Tessalone and @DennisWF for jumping in to help out here! 🧡

There’s a bug report open for these “Unable to process request from OpenAI” errors which is affecting o3 model use specifically when a temperature is set, so I’m going to share your solution there in case it helps to resolve it for others as well.

Thanks again! 😁
