I previously connected a live key. I am now wanting to connect my test mode account, using the test mode key. I used my test mode key. When attempting an action, I get this error:

 

Failed to create a payment link in Stripe

The app returned "No such price: 'price_1R6lfyJ0wxpzcGNaTDVEOTkn'; a similar object exists in test mode, but a live mode key was used to make this request.".

How is this possible if the account I am using was connected using a test mode key?

To fix this, please follow these steps:

 

1. Reconnect Your Stripe Account in Zapier:

 

Go to Zapier > My Apps and find Stripe.

Click Reconnect and ensure you enter your test mode secret key (sk_test_...).

 

2. Check the Stripe Action in Your Zap:

 

Open the specific Zap where you're getting this error.

Confirm that the connected Stripe account is the test mode account.

If needed, re-select the correct test mode account to refresh the connection.

 

3. Verify the Price ID in Test Mode:

 

Log in to Stripe and switch to Test Mode (top-right corner).

Navigate to Products > Prices and check if the price ID (price_1R6lfyJ0wxpzcGNaTDVEOTkn) exists. No

If not, create a new test mode price and use its ID in your Zap.

@Hafiz_usama123 I tried this. Step for step. Still same issue. When I go into the price value in setting up a stripe action, it lists all the price/products from my live site. I am entering my test secret key, and I am currently in test mode on stripe dashboard.

EDIT:
I cleared all current Stripe connections. I used a fresh browser with no cookies; logged into zapier fresh, connected stripe, used test mode secret key, selected account. Still displays live products/prices. This is definitely a glitch.

I think its this page that is causing it. I think the test mode secret key isn’t being applied to some of the data. This is the page after I entered my test mode key

Zapier is pulling live Stripe data despite using the test mode secret key. Check that the correct test key (sk_test_...) is used in Zapier and reconnect if necessary. Manually enter a test mode Price ID instead of selecting from the dropdown. Refresh the Stripe connection or duplicate the Zap to clear cached data. Lastly, verify that Stripe test mode has the correct permissions for Zapier.

None of the Zapier staff seem to know how to manage this app and toggling between live and test modes. This solution from ​@JammerS  is NOT correct. The toggle at the top is a user View and not an enablement mechanism.

And despite using Test Keys in the connection of the app, when testing with live data, mine remains in a partial Live Mode connection using an unknown Live Key for Action events but not for Trigger events, which use the correct Test mode keys. All testing in the Zap Editor use the Test Keys for all actions and triggers.

 

The solution I believe revolves around setting the Zapier mode to Test here:

The only problem is that after toggling to “Install app in test mode” the app still doesnt work properly in Zapier even after reconnecting with a new App Connection using a sk_test_ key AND then an Error AND then there is no longer a mechanism to switch back to live mode.
