Question

Airtable to Docupilot ERROR NO EMAIL seems to come through

I setup a zap for airtable on new record, to create a zap that transfers the clients customer agreement information into docupilot and docupilots sends the agreement to the client, during the setup of the zap, all the testing functions and everything works, but when the zap runs itself i keep getting an error that no email is attatched to the zap, so it cant create and send a customer agreement with no email, but when creating the zap the email is present and it works. What is happening?

Hi @jk64811

For us to have more context, post screenshots with how your steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

Check your Zap Runs history activity details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you troubleshoot:

ok,, i tried that, looking through zap history and it basically just tells me the email address didn’t come through with the zap but it works when testing.

When a new record is created in Airtable does the Email field have a value?

How are records being created in Airtable?

Are you limiting your Zap trigger step config to use a View?

The View should have a Filter condition to make sure the Email field has a value.

When a new record is created in airtable the email always has a value (like when we physically make the record in airtable if that’s what you mean)

I have been creating records in airtable through just the grid view

i am not limiting the zap trigger step to use a view

so i guess since im not limiting it to a veiw, i haven’t done the filter condition thing your talking about,

sorry i’m a small company and i am starting to get too busy to waste time, but I am pretty good with computers just not great with this, i appreciate the time you’ve spent

Thank you for your help, so i’ve adjusted the view, and selected grid view, but when you say “the view should have a filter condition” do you mean in airtable? or in zapier? And I am assuming I should filter it by exists? or not empty?
