The current solution for this trigger is really poor and I am surprised intercom have this a as a live solution, the quality control really is not there.

I’ve added you to the list of affected users. There’s no ETA on when this will be resolved but we’ll email you with any updates on a fix for this. In the meantime, there were a couple of workarounds suggested in that thread you referenced which may be worth trying out. :)
