Thanks!

I solved it without using the formatter by changing the response field to data AND time, rather than 2 separate fields. This is the right format that Schedule by Zapier needs to see it.

Hi @Theundeniable 👋

Happy to help if you’re running into issues in setting up a Delay action in your Zaps. Can you send over some screenshots of where you’re currently at and any errors you might be running into? That’ll help to give us a bit more context on where you’re getting stuck exactly. Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yeah so what I came up with was that the delay has to be roughly at least 25 minutes. No problems after that but trying to test things 25 minutes can be an extensive time but if you don't know what you're doing you spend way more time trying to figure out what's wrong I think I've wasted 3 days trying to figure that I haven't seen any documentation anywhere I think this should be a section on this website that tells people what the nuances are in a glossary so they can quickly find a solution to what they're attempting to get done. Maybe that's just the text field and I'm just unaware. Thank you for responding.

Next issue is sending texts to a filter and capitalizing the first letter of every word everything works except that Google sheets through the formatter to Gmail. It appears that tons of people are having issues with. I still as of yet have not been able to cause this to work one time. All of the instructions I see basically say the same thing none of them work.

Thanks for getting back to me @Theundeniable

I’ve moved your posts out into a brand new topic so we can address these issues separately, hope you don’t mind! 🙂

That’s very odd. The minimum delay period shouldn’t be as high as 25 minutes. Can you tell us a bit more about the workflow that you’re using the delay action in? Was the Delay action running immediately when it was given a shorter delay time? If so, could it be that the delay date/time was set in the past? See our Why is my delay releasing immediately? guide for details. Was that the case here?

Is it that you want the text to be converted to title case (first letter of each major word capitalised? Or is the issue that the text is being converted to title case and you don’t want it to be? If you can share some further details and screenshots of the Zaps current set up to help illustrate the issue you’re running into here it would be much appreciated. We don’t have access to your Zaps so this will help to give us a better understanding of the situation.

Thanks, I look forward to your reply!

Hi Sam

I am facing issues with Delay by Zapier too. I am trying to schedule take home test at the specific time provided by candidates. My flow is Google Form > Delay by Zapier > Gmail.

However, all the messages are being sent instantaneously rather that the date and time provided. I am using “Delay until” the Date and Time mapped from the Google Form. Could it be the format of the Date and Time?

I have also adjusted the timezone on Zapier to match the one I am currently in but nothing works.

Please help!

Hi @chai1234567,

Your issue with the Delay by Zapier may be due to the date and time format on your Google Form. Zapier requires the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS in 24-hour format. To fix this, check your form's date format and, if needed, use Zapier's "Formatter" action to reformat it before using it in the "Delay Until" step.

Please try these steps and see if it resolves your issue. If you're still having trouble, don't hesitate to ask for further assistance.
