Why can't formatter remove all special characters?

I’m aware that Formatter (by Zapier) has replace functions you can use to do all kinds of specialized functions, and that you can even use replace to remove specific things. What I find puzzling is that there is no simple function for removing all special characters, or numbers, or alphabetical characters.

I’m surprised that you can’t put an expression in the find section of replace to use something like \D.

The fact that you have to use a code step for something so simple is frustrating.

Hi @Hugaluga

Try this Zap action: AI by Zapier - Analyze and Return Data

Hey @Hugaluga 👋

Have you had a chance to try out the AI by Zapier action that Troy suggested?

Seems like it would work better for what you want than a Formatter action, but happy to lend a hand if you get stuck at all - keep us posted on how it goes! 🙂
