What Are Your Favorite CRM Automations with Zapier?
The one that has paid off most for us is not flashy. It is deduping before anything writes.
New lead arrives from a form, search the CRM by email first, then branch. Create if nothing matches, update if something does. Without that step every source eventually creates its own copy of the same person and the reporting stops being trustworthy.
Two smaller ones worth stealing:
Stage changes to a Slack channel, but only for the stages that actually need a human to react. Sending every stage change trains people to ignore the channel.
A delay step before follow up tasks so the task lands on a workday morning instead of whenever the trigger fired. Same automation, much higher completion rate.
Curious whether anyone has a clean approach for companies rather than contacts. That is where our matching still gets messy.
