Use chatgpt to read emails in my inbox

I have the ChatGPT Zapier plugin.  I would like to be able to ask ChatGPT to read emails in my inbox from a certain date range from specific users and have it summarize them.

I don’t want the zap to be triggered by incoming emails.  I want the app to be triggered when I ask ChatGPT to search for emails.

I know that there are parser accounts that require you to forward your email to them.  I want to parse emails already in the inbox of my existing email account.

Furthermore, I don’t want to use Gmail.  I have a Zimbra email account I wish to use instead.

Is this even possible, and if so, how?

Hi @SomebodySysop,

It looks like you've already been in contact with one of our Support Specialists about this question. Here is the latest response they provided:

I'm afraid that there's no available ChatGPT trigger yet, and if you are looking to perform specific actions based on the contents of a chat, the ChatGPT Zapier plugin may meet your needs by setting up actions following the steps here:
https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/14058263394573-Use-the-Zapier-plugin-in-ChatGPT-beta-#set-up-your-chatgpt-actions-0-1

If you have any other questions about this workflow, I recommend continuing this conversation with our Support team.

Thank you! 😊

This was not really an answer. The trigger is the easy part.  What I need is a specific action. Zapier boasts over 5,000 integrations, but not one which provides the action of reading emails from an email inbox. This is the action I need.

@SomebodySysop Hey there 👋,

We do not support Zimbra as an app at this time. Is it possible it is under a different integration name?

If you choose to utilize another email host for this use case in the future, please let us know and we’d be happy to go back to the drawing board and see what automation we can create!

I don’t think the email server brand really matters.  It’s the email client.  I use Android clients on 3 different devices to access my Zimbra email server.  The server supports:

  1. SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol): This is the standard protocol for sending emails across the Internet. It's used by email clients to send messages to the email server, and by email servers to relay messages to other email servers.

So, to access, you only need the port number, IP address and username and password.

Hi there @SomebodySysop,

I understand your desire to trigger a Zap directly through ChatGPT, while you can't directly trigger a Zap by asking ChatGPT. However, our certified Zapier Experts can assist you with your workflow. They're pros at all things Zapier-related. Simply head over to this link: https://zapier.com/experts to connect with our fantastic Zapier Experts.

Hopefully, this helps! 😊
