Hi everyone, I want to delete an attachment from a task inside clickup using zapier. I have not been able to find a way to make this work.

Has anyone experienced a similar case? How did you find a workaround for this?

Hi @subaz,

Did some experimenting and think I found a solution that could work.

First I checked the available Clickup Actions and didn’t see a “Delete Attachment” Action. I also confirmed in the API documentation that this action is not available it appears you can only add attachments via API. Otherwise I would have recommended a custom API call.

I think you can solve for this with a combination of Zapier & ClickUp automations. The example, I created was an automation within ClickUp that deletes attachments on the task when “delete_attachment” is logged in the comments. You could create a boolean custom field titled “delete attachments” that you can update with Zapier to trigger the ClickUp automation.

When the comment was logged, the attachment was removed off the task! So on the Zapier side all you should have to do is log a comment or update a custom field!

Showing the automation configuration below:

Hope this helps!
