Magento 2 connection - where to put API Key?

I am having trouble connecting my Magento 2 Store. This is what I have done.

I have created an API Username. Lets call it: ABC123
( I have allowed access to everything just incase)

Once I have created this API connection, Magento 2 issues 4 things:

  • Consumer Key
  • Consumer Secret
  • Access Token
  • Access Token Secret

When connecting through Zapier… you ask for the following:

Full Domain
I type it out like this: https://www.mydomainname.co.uk

API User
I type ABC123

API Key:
???????????????

What do I put as the API Key please? Magento provide 4 things - none of which is labelled API Key?

Thank you

Hi @Cornish Matt

Why not try each of the 4 values to see which works?

Welcome to the Community, @Cornish Matt!

I believe the API Key is only needed when connecting to a Magento 1 store, not a Magento 2 store.

When connecting to a Magento 2.X store you shouldn’t need to use any API connection details. You’d just need to enter the Full DomainAdmin Username and Admin Password for the Magento Admin user account:

If you’re being asked for an API Key then it may be that the Magento 1 app has been selected in the Zap, instead of the Magento 2.X app:

Do you think that could be the case here?

If so, try selecting the Magento 2.X app instead to see if you’re then able to connect successfully using the Full Domain, Admin Username and Admin Password details. Hope that helps! :)
