Jotform file attachment download, Rename and upload into sharepoint

Hello,

I’ve started using zapier less than 24hrs ago and got stuck, hope somebody can help.

We have a form in Jotform that collects applicants basic information (name, surname, company applied for, job applied, etc...) and a field to upload their CV file.

What I need to do in Zapier is quite simple at first glance at least:

  • Download file from Jotform using the URL provided by Jotform via the integration in Zapier
  • Rename the file using fields provided in jotform and which I’ve already mapped in a table keeping the file extension unchanged. (It would be good to convert also different files all to PDFs)
  • Upload the file to specific folders in Sharepoint based on company applied.

Before I can get to the next steps, I’m stuck at the point where I download the file. I’m not technical at all, and can’t understand if the step added are the right ones to download the file (GET Webhooks), if there is the need to add authentication, if the step is the correct one, etc…

Is there anyone who can shed some light or that can provide some idiot-proof explanation, point me to some guidance that can explain to somebody like me how to succeed with the above?

Thanks in advance

P.

Hi @DevCusimano

(see screenshot below)

For Jotform, you need to adjust the settings to make files public to be able to download in the Zap.

Location: Jotform > Profile > Settings > Security > Privacy

Uncheck: Require log-in to view uploaded files.

Help us have more info about what you are referring to with the Zap by posting screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured along with any encountered errors testing Zap steps.

Hey @DevCusimano,

It’s entirely possible to automate what you described. Your sample workflow will look something like this-

  • Jotform New Submission trigger
  • Formatter for renaming
  • Cloudconvert Conver a file
  • Sharepoint Upload file

You don’t need a Get webhooks to download the file as Zapier can handle that automatically. Also make sure that you untick the log in to view uploaded files from settings of Jotform. Hope it helps!

Thanks everyone, I followed your suggestions and managed to resolve the issue.

I did not know about the fact I could hire solutions experts in Zapier and something we will keep in my for the next use cases we have in the pipeline.
