Hi,

I have a zapier automation that sends out a gmail with an attachment once a checkout is completed.

The attachment is a google drive link (shareable).

The attachment in the email send out by zapier is not working and looks like screenshot 1.

I have followed these 2 guides but didn’t manage to solve the issue.https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288813453

https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8495965264397#my-zap-doesn-t-create-a-text-file-and-doesn-t-copy-over-the-folder--0-0

Should I copy the link (from the second screenshot) to Zapier and paste it in the attachment tab?

Or should I build a link that specifically works in Zapier?

Thanks!

Hi @jackline

Good question.

The GDrive File link being used needs to be PUBLIC (may need to adjust the file permissions) and the DIRECT DOWNLOAD link of the file.

Check this resource: https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2direct/

Please post detailed screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured to give us more context, thanks.

Hey,

the sites.google said that the url is invalid. and i followed the instructions.

I think this should be something very simple not sure what is wrong!

@jackline I’m pulling Troy’s answer from this post

But looks like adding a Formatter step may do the trick here.

You’ll have to add a formatter step to extract the File ID from a link that looks like this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=[fileid]

Then structure the File Attachment link to be dynamic like this: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=[fileid]

Replace [fileid] with the value from the previous step.

I don’t see anything inherently wrong with your Zap set up, so I’m hoping this does the trick. If not, let us know and I’m happy to come back and keep working on this!

Also, does this solution apply to attaching a link to a google drive folder?

@jackline Here is an updated link! And I believe this post is in relation to Google Drive, but not specifically Google Folder.

Hey, the links are still not working, can you check from your end that the links to the google drive are not working.

Perhaps @Troy Tessalone can help here.

Hi @jackline

Troy mentioned about using the Formatter step to extract the File ID.

Please add the Formatter step. On the Transform field, select Extract URL and then use the ID from Stripe.
