I was trying to create a Chatbot that receive a csv file as and input, process it and returns a new file.
However, I couldn’t find an option to upload a file via the chat, same as ChatGPT has. See below.

Welcome to the Community, @Saragus😁

Are you wanting users of the Zapier Chatbot you’ve created to be able to upload their own CSV files and have the chatbot answer questions about the date within the file?

If yes - you’ll need to reach out to the Zapier Chatbots team here to submit a feature request for this as it’s not something that’s currently possible.

If no - is it that you’re wanting to upload a CSV file that the Chatbot will reference in it’s responses to all users? If that’s the case, you’d need to add the file as a knowledge source. You can learn more about how to do that here: Use knowledge sources with a chatbot

Hope that helps to get you pointed in the right direction. If you have any further questions at all please do let us know!

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, the first option is what I’m looking for. I want users of the Zapier Chatbot to be able to upload their own CSV files and have the chatbot answer questions based on that file.

I’ll submit a new feature request!

Thanks for confirming that, @Saragus! Hopefully they’ll be able to get that feature request implemented soon.

Please do reach out again if there’s anything else I can assist with in the meantime - always happy to help! 🤗

@SamB I support @Saragus and have similar needs — it’d be useful to bring things more “on-par” with custom GPTs and Anthropic Claude, so it’s a commonly-expected feature.

It’s also so much more tidy to upload a text file and ask it questions, instead of trying to copypaste a huge block of words.

I’ve submitted the same feature request.

Thanks for reaching out here to share your support for this, @TORLEY

Totally understand how being able to allow users to upload files so that they can then ask questions about it would be super useful. And thanks for also putting in a feature request for this, we’ll be sure to let you know if/when that functionality is added! 🙂

Hi @TORLEY @Saragus Hi there! I have a quick question about your use cases. I totally understand the need for users to be able to upload data to chat with your GPT. But for the GPT itself, would you also connect/upload some data on top of the instructions / system prompt such that when it responds to the user, the answers or output are more relevant for your specific use case?

@fiona819 Can you please expand on what you’re asking, and your use case? I don’t quite understand.

@fiona819 yes, I'm using a large csv file with internal data for the GPT to use as a main source in the background to help with the answer
