Hi @N.Spear,
Welcome to the Community.
The Shopify-Zapier integration currently doesn't support updating the cost per item, as this is considered a back-end detail rather than a front-end product attribute. You can use the Shopify API as a workaround, which may require developer assistance. You're also encouraged to submit a feature request to Zapier, as customer feedback helps shape future updates.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
Hi ok, the thing is is that the cost price is essential in being able to work out profit / margin and often involved in bulk price changes so would be hugely beneficial to be able to change.
How do you suggest using a Shopify API to change the price - do you have an example of the steps involved?
Hi @N.Spear,
You may need to contact Shopify for assistance with their API so you can adequately use it via Zapier.
@N.Spear I may be able to help out. Is this the right understanding that your products have cost fluctuations, and then you need to set a fixed profit margin and update the product price (and also variant price) directly in Shopify. You are open to using Google Sheets or any tables to get that done right? How often do you think the updates will be? Every hour? Every day?
Updates are done monthly - if you used update cost of inventory item would this change the cost ?
Hi @N.Spear,
Updating the cost of an inventory item via Zapier depends on whether the app's API supports such modifications. To ensure the update works correctly, check the app's API documentation, verify that your Zap is appropriately configured, and confirm that data flows as expected. Proper field mapping is crucial. Testing the Zap before full implementation helps confirm accuracy. The timing of the update should align with relevant conditions, such as a monthly review or triggered events.
If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to provide more details about the specific app and setup you're using, and I'll be glad to help you troubleshoot further.
