Total newbie here.. so go easy on my plz :)

I want a specific event (same event) in any of 4 Gmail accounts to trigger the same event. Do I have to set up separate Zaps for each account?

Thank you, and have a good day!

Hi @Giant Purple Parrot

App accounts need to be connected to Zapier here: https://zapier.com/app/connections

A Zap step can only use 1 app account.

Thus, you would need separate Zaps to trigger from different Gmail accounts.

We had something similar with Slack. We were adding different Slack accounts to send messages, all the time. We have decided to create a Sub-Zap that receives the sender, the receiver, the message and the message type, and we have created two paths as a decision tree with all the accounts. Now we just need to create the trigger, call the sub-zap and pass the parameters with no more tedious configuration anymore :-)

Hi @Giant Purple Parrot! That is a great workaround. You can run a similar workflow with the Gmail accounts as well, creating separate Zaps that trigger on a different Gmail account connection, then calling the Sub-Zap to run the same step for all those accounts.

Another alternative, as Tony mentioned, is to create separate Zaps. Once you have the first one configured, you can duplicate the Zap, change the account connection in the trigger, and check that every field is mapped correctly before publishing it. It will definitely save some time compared to building all 4 Zaps from scratch.
