i'd like to create a workflow that will send an email with included attachments when a task is created in Basecamp. I'm unable to figure out how to extract the image from Basecamp so I can include it in the Gmail/Email. So far, the best I can do is get a link, but this link is private. No one will be able to access it unless you have access to Basecamp already. Would anyone have a solution for this?
Hi there
Welcome to the Community! 🎉
Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of how the image looks like in Basecamp. This will help me take a closer look at the issue.
Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.
Thanks!
Hi there,
Just came across this and saw you also reached out to our Support team, but I didn’t see a response from your side, so I’m not sure if this was resolved. I’ll share the reply from Support here in case it’s helpful to others who might have a similar question:
You’re absolutely right—when using the “New To-Do” trigger from Basecamp, the image or file attachment is usually returned as a private URL, meaning it requires Basecamp access to view. At the moment, the integration only pulls in the link itself and not the actual file or image.
If you’re looking to include that image in an email via Gmail or another app, the link needs to be publicly accessible, which unfortunately isn't the case with Basecamp-hosted files by default.
I’d recommend checking directly in Basecamp to see if there’s a way to make the file or image publicly shareable.
Were you able to get assistance from the Basecamp team in making the files publicly accessible?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
