How can I resolve a 403 error when testing a Zap that extracts news from an RSS feed and posts it to my WordPress site? I included a Zapier AI action to analyze the post and select the appropriate category from a predefined list, but the category is not being created. While the post is successfully made to WordPress, it is always uncategorized instead of being attached to the desired category. I have an administrator role with all necessary permissions granted on my WordPress site.
Hi
Welcome to the Community.
The 403 error in WordPress usually points to a permissions issue, potentially with the Zapier plugin or the API user Zapier uses. To resolve this, ensure the API user has the correct permissions, check if any security plugins are blocking Zapier, verify that the default post category isn't set to "Uncategorized," and confirm that the category mapping in Zapier is correct. If necessary, manually create the required categories in WordPress.
Hi
Did Jammer’s reply help to get things solved or did you find a different solution? If so we’d love it if you could share some details on how you fixed things here - this would be super helpful to others running into the same issue!
If not, can you share some screenshots of the full error message you’re seeing, as well as the current set up of the WordPress action that’s erroring? I’d like to take a closer look at what’s been selected for the category in particular in case there’s anything on the set up that’s preventing the correct category from being selected. Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing - you can use a tool like Zappy for that.
Looking forward to hearing from you on this!
