How to replay ZAPs on a new version in Zapier

I just published a new version of my ZAP and would like to replay ZAPs on this new version. Does that happen automatically or do I need to change the version somewhere?

Hi @Greg_BBBS

New Zap Runs will use the current published Zap version.

Hi @Greg_BBBS

No, replays do not happen automatically. When you replay a past Zap run, it will use the latest published version of your Zap at the time of replay.

To replay on your new version:

  1. Navigate to Zap History

  2. Select the specific run you wish to replay

  3. Click "Replay entire Zap"

The system will then process that past run again, now using your newly published version.

One important note: Replays will not work if you've made significant structural changes to your Zap, such as:

  • Adding, removing, or reordering steps

  • Changing the apps used in your Zap

In those cases, you would need new incoming data to test your changes.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you need any clarification.

It doesn’t happen automatically.

Once you publish a new version, new runs will use that version, but old runs don’t get replayed on their own. If you want past runs to go through again, you need to replay them from Zap History or from the editor.

One thing to watch out for: if you changed the Zap a lot, some older runs may not replay cleanly. Zapier says replay can be affected by big changes like changing apps or changing the order/number of steps.

So the short answer is: new version for future runs automatically, old runs only if you replay them manually.
