How to Find an Existing Customer Instead of Creating a New One

I have many instances where I need to go into an app and find an existing customer. But the available zaps for the app only let me create new things. I’m using The Customer Factor CRM. I want to go in and find a customer, THEN create a job for the customer who’s already in there. I’ve searched for steps named ‘find’ or ‘search’ but I haven’t found anything. How do I do this? Any help?

Hi @claybustin,

It looks like the Find Customer action is not supported at the moment. However, we have an existing feature request for this exact functionality. I have added you to the feature request. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track interest in this feature being implemented
  • Allows us to notify you via email if this feature becomes available in the future

While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will notify you via email if it is!

Hi @claybustin 

Most Zap apps are created and managed by the app developer using the Zapier Developer Platform.

Try reaching out to Customer Factor Support for possible guidance and ask if there is an API available to use.
