How to find a user in Discord when integrating WIX and Stripe

Hello! I’m wanting to Integrate both WIX and Stripe with Discord. Where TRIGGER = purchase subscription and ACTION = adds role to specific user. And conversely, when TRIGGER = subscription canceled, ACTION = remove role

I’m getting stuck in the FIND USER phase. Since Discord API does not share email address and that is the only information I will receive from the Customer in WIX and Stripe - how do I map it over to my customer’s Discord Account?

Is there any way to automate this process inside Zapier? Or do I have to ask my customer to manually add their Discord username to their WIX account in hopes that Zapier can map it that way?

To automate role management in Discord based on Wix and Stripe subscriptions, collect Discord usernames during signup on Wix, ensuring the field is mandatory. Zapier triggers role updates when a subscription is purchased or canceled, mapping the username to the correct Discord user. If automation isn't feasible, manually gather usernames post-purchase. Since Discord's API doesn't share email addresses, leveraging alternative tools may help streamline user mapping.

Hi Clementine,

You're right—since Discord doesn't expose email addresses via its API, you won't be able to directly match a Stripe/WIX customer to their Discord account automatically. The most reliable approach is to ask users to manually provide their Discord username (including the discriminator, like User#1234) during sign-up or checkout on WIX. Then you can pass that data through Zapier to identify and assign roles in Discord. It's a small extra step for users, but it's currently the only practical way to bridge the platforms securely.
