We want to have a meeting/appointment that we create in Outlook/Exchange create an Asana Task.

We have a Hosted Exchange Provider (not hosted through Microsoft) which Zapier does not support.

Common Problems With Microsoft Exchange

So, our approach is to simply add a Zapier email address and invite it to to the Outlook Event.

This of course creates an email that we can then use Zapier to parse and create the task.

However, we don’t understand how we can extract the date of the meeting/appointment.

Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of what tools to use and how to extract the date?

Hi @ericinbrooklyn,

Welcome to the Community.

To create Asana tasks from Outlook events using email parsing, set up a parser mailbox at parser.zapier.com and send a sample event email. Define parsing rules to extract the meeting date, then create a Zap that triggers new parsed emails and maps the extracted data to the Asana task's due date. Consistent email formatting is key for accurate parsing.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask.
