To automate a workflow between two Monday.com boards using Zapier, set the trigger to "New update" in the 'Renewal Tracker Board.' Add a Filter step that allows the Zap to continue only if the 'Renewal Status' is 'Renewing.' Next, use a Search step to locate the corresponding item in the 'Apartments Master Log' board based on a shared identifier. Then, include another Filter step to ensure the 'Unit Status' isn't 'Reserved.' Finally, add an action to update the 'Unit Status' column of the matched item in the 'Apartments Master Log' to 'Renewing.' This setup assumes a common field links the two boards; otherwise, additional steps may be needed to identify the correct item.

I was doing well until I needed to set up a search function. Am I using the wrong function? I can't seem to get it to work. I have attached a photo of my progress so far.

It looks like that Get Items by Column Value action may have hit an error, which may be complicating things here. I can’t quite tell from the screenshot what the issue is though. Would you mind sharing a screenshot that shows the fields and settings you’ve selected for that Get Items by Column Value action, along with any error messages you’re seeing? That’ll help us take a closer look and spot anything that might be causing trouble.
Oh and be sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing—you can use a tool like Zappy for that.
