I have a zap set up that when our system creates a new job it creates a dropbox folder (that is working fine).
I would like to then add subfolders (always the same names) under that newly created folder.
How do i do this?
thank you

Hi
Thank you for the reply! The newly created folder is not created yet until this all runs so I dont have anything to map to yet.
i’ve attached a screenshot of my zap
Map the Path variable from Step 3 to be set as the Folder field value in Step 4, thus making the steps dynamic.
Hey
Let us know if you still need any help!
So i thought it was but the path does not change when the variable changes.
Ours is set up on the original zap which is set up to pull a QBE data from a program we use. It is pulling job information everytime we input a new job. So I have the main folder being created just fine, but all the sub folders do not update the path when the new path is created from a new job being created.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Hi
If your subfolder path isn’t updating when a new job is created, ensure the variable is correctly linked to the job information in your Zap. Use a ‘Path’ action in apps like Google Drive or Dropbox to update the folder path dynamically. Test with different job data to check if the path updates correctly. If the issue persists, try recreating the Zap. If you still need help, provide more details about your setup for further troubleshooting.
I’ve attached some screenshots. i’m not sure what path to use as it would change each time when we create a new job (when it pulls a new QBE from our program which is called hiretrack).
The 6.52.13 file shows the overall zap:
Step 1 = pulls the QBE from hiretrack when a new job is created
Step 2 = changes the date format
Step 3 = Creates a folder in our dropbox that pulls info from the job that was created.
Steps up to this point work correctly
Step 4 = Creates a sub folder in the folder that was created in step 3 (this does not work correctly.
Step 5 and 6 are the same as step 4 and does not work correctly.
Let me know if you need more info. Thank you for your help
Hi there
I did some testing in my own Zap with a similar set up and it correctly created a sub folder:
Looking at the screenshots in the Zap it looks like the name of the previously created folder is different from the one that’s selected in step 4:
So it seems like the Sales folder was added to a different folder.
In step 4 of your Zap, does the Folder field contain the Path field (selected from step 3), like this:
If not, that could be why the sub folder isn’t being added into the correct folder.
Do you think that could be the case here? Or do both steps 4 and 5 of your Zap already have the correct Path fields selected? Looking forward to hearing from you!
