How to add a check reaction in Slack and verify its existence

I wondered if it would be possible to let the zap add a `:check:` reaction as a latch, and then check for the existence of that reaction.

Hi @Ambreen Younas, welcome to the Zapier Community 👋

You might be able to work with Slack's “Get Message Reactions” search action, which returns a message and its list of reactions. This could be a great way to verify if specific reactions exist on messages.

This approach would allow you to:
• Verify whether a particular reaction exists on a message

• Build conditional logic based on reaction presence using Filter by Zapier or Paths by Zapier

You can take a look at all of the existing Slack Triggers and Actions here:

I hope this helps!

Hi @Ambreen Younas

Try these Slack Zap events…

Trigger: Slack - New Reaction Added

AND

Action: Slack - Add Reaction

Hey there @Ambreen Younas 👋

Just wanted to check how you got on with the suggestions from Sebastian and Troy here? Did either of those approaches do the trick?

Let us know how it went. Happy to lend a hand if you’re still stuck at all! 🙂
